Balanced-SE Conversion

Full Balanced

With the Enthusiast’s BAL-to-SE conversion, white noise from the DAP is canceled out by the + and − signals, so the white noise that can be bothersome with high-sensitivity earphones tends to be reduced. (This varies depending on the DAP.) Also, because the amplifier circuitry has been reduced, power consumption is lower. Battery life increases to 9.5 hours with the Enthusiast’s BAL-to-SE conversion, compared to 6 hours with a full balanced configuration. By driving earphones and headphones in single-ended mode, the sound image and positioning become even more precise, and resolution improves. With the high supply voltage of 30V, the result is a sound that does not feel underpowered.
